About

THE CALIBRE COATINGS STORY

At Calibre Coatings, passion for the painting industry is in the blood. Brothers Grant and Darren Lee grew up with sheets of sandpaper in their hands, and Grant’s early memories are of sanding down doors as they helped their Dad, Richard, at weekends and in school holidays.

Richard was an industry veteran. He completed his five-year Painting & Decorating apprenticeship in the 1960s and stayed with the same firm for his entire working life of 43 years, instilling in his sons the values of loyalty, trust and commitment.

No surprises, then, that Grant and Darren have both inherited a natural flair for painting and displayed impressive skills that fast-tracked them through their Painting and Decorating apprenticeships in the mid 1990s. Collectively, they have over 50 years painting experience.
